Great Wednesday Morning!!!! As many of you all know, I have been battling high blood pressure since the age of 18. Thankfully, I have been able to manage my pressure without the use of medication. Regardless of the high blood pressure new guide lines, we have to be proactive in our approach to health. There are people walking around with high blood pressure and have no clue on how close they are to having a stroke, or much worse, a heart attack. Having high blood pressure is nothing to play with. If you have not checked your blood pressure in the last six months, I encourage you to check your pressure sooner than later. Interesting fact: New guidelines lower the threshold for high blood pressure, adding 30 million Americans to those who have the condition, which now plagues nearly half of U.S. adults. Currently, only half of Americans with high blood pressure have it under control. How to lower BP without medication: 1. Diet changes 2. Weight loss 3. Exercise 4. Reduce alcohol consumption 5. Consult with your health care provider Have a great day!!! CM
